“The Walk-On Mentality” is the mindset that there are no limits to what we can accomplish when we have faith, confidence, and work relentlessly to achieve our goals.
“The Walk-On Mentality” is more than just a mindset. It is a transformative approach that empowers you to maximize your full potential.
“The Walk-On Mentality” was born through Jackson’s experience playing college football. Jackson was recruited by a couple small schools, but had a dream of playing “big time D1 football.”
He made the decision to bet on himself and walk-on at Southern Methodist University where he finished his career as a 4-year letterman, 2-year starter, and team captain. He was also the winner of the Work-Ethic Award, and nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, which is awarded to the best college football player who started their career as a walk-on.
After hanging up the cleats, “The Walk-On Mentality” became about using the mindset of an athlete to pursue professional excellence.
“The Walk-On Mentality” is applicable across all categories of our lives, and Jackson’s goal is to inspire others to set massive goals and operate with the same mentality.
No limits.
I’m Jackson Mitchell.
My mission is to inspire others to maximize their full potential while I relentlessly pursue my own.
From the start of my career I knew I wanted to help people. I wasn’t sure how, but I knew that I had a call to serve.
Throughout the duration of my career I’ve had success selling hardware, capital equipment, disposables, biologics, software, and services to a variety of stakeholders in the healthcare environment from surgeons to the executive suite. My current focus is providing Orthopedic Surgeons with the best possible solutions for shoulder replacement surgery.
I’m passionate about making a positive impact, building high-performing individuals and teams, and being the best I possibly can at the role I play in patient care.
Prior to my professional career I walked on to the football team at SMU, earned a scholarship, and finished my career as a Captain, 2-year starter, 4-year letterman, Work Ethic Award recipient, and Burlsworth Trophy Nominee who helped turn the culture of the organization.
During my time at SMU I was exposed to mental performance coaching and became fascinated with the intersection of mindset and performance at the highest level. I saw how mental performance coaching impacted me which led me to become an MPM Certified Mental Performance Coach myself in order to pass that experience along to my team and others I interact with.
Today I explore my potential through training for fitness competitions such as marathons, triathlons, and Hyrox as well as pursuing excellence in my career in the Medical Device Industry.
I believe that there are no limits to what we can accomplish when we have faith, confidence, and are willing to put in the work necessary to achieve our goals. My hope is that anyone I come into contact with would adopt the same mentality in all that they do.
No limits.
